With Warren Co. and many community theater groups (adult and children) in the area growing - the need to not rely on small outdated buildings and public schools for performance and rehersal spaces is here!! I say…build it and they WILL COME! (audiences and artists alike)

It would be nice to have something to do around here besides eating out or shopping. Plus it gives the younger generation an option other than sports to become involved and develop their talents. A well rounded community needs a variety of recreational activities to retain and attract caring and concerned citizens.

I think an Arts Center will be a blessing to the Lebanenon area

The local community theatre sells out many of its shows. They perform in a dilapidated building near downtown Lebanon with nminimum funding from any political or non-political funding sources. They have raised the quality of live entertainment in Lebanon and the surrounding area with a small, but dedicated group of volunteers. This local theatre has worked hard to build bridges to businesses, other community groups and the people of Lebanon and Warren County. They deserve better!

A cultural arts center would be an outstanding idea for continued positive growth in our area…not to mention increasing the value / attractiveness of the surrounding homes. While there are a lot of excellent cultural programs downtown — with gas prices, miserable traffic patterns and construction, a quality arts center close to home would be a great addition. We have several arts org’s in the area in need of a quality home…particularly our award winning adult and youth community theatres.

The county did not spend any money on the research group. It was paid for by a donor. This information is all available through public records. The county has already said they have no money for a cultural arts center and that all funding would have to come from corporate sponsors and individuals.

It’s about time Warren County began to make plans to join the 21st century. Arts are integral to culture, community, and life. Our region wants to attract residents who want easy access to shopping (Rivers Crossing), education (Sinclair College), and the arts (a new arts center). Now we can have blues festivals indoors, too! Sign me up for season tickets!

An arts center in Lebanon would be wonderful! I’d like to see it in downtown Lebanon, however, I think Lebanon is in serious need of upscale dining, other than The Golden Lamb. As with most art center locations, patrons enjoy pre and post event venues where they can enjoy cocktails and dessert, as well as an upscale dining experience prior or post event.

Wow, great idea. A self-supporting, community-enhancing, life-changing idea. Now real world facts. The county, cities and townships of Warren county will start with OUR money to start the project. Then we will be asked to approve a ‘temporary’ sales tax to subsidize the center. Then the sales tax will live longer than we will. All the while we will hear about all the money it brings into the county (sales taxes), all the jobs it brings in (art center and govt). All with our money.

Oh sure! The Schuster Center and Victoria can’t draw crowds. Smells like the “GET MIDWEST” money hole to me. Gee, I can already see tens of thousands of new jobs being created by that typical waste of money. Another performing arts center will floundewr as well. Spend those tax dollars on something USEFUL for a change!

Warren County needs a cultural arts facility like I need a third eye. Anytime the county or other municipal entity hires a “consultation” or “research” group the findings are going to be exactly what they wanted. I did my own random survey here in the Waynesville area and here’s my findings: 100% of the folks I spoke to would not attend a function at such a facility. 100% of the folks I spoke to strongly agreed that a cultural arts facility would not be a valuable addition to Warren County.
