Schools chief looks to Kings
Edgewood City Schools Superintendent Tom York has applied for the top position at Kings Local Schools in Warren County, my education reporter colleague Danielle Wilson reported in today’s Journal.
York is among the 16 applicants for the Kings position.
York also is considering retiring from the Edgewood district and the Edgewood board is considering rehiring him. There will be a public hearing July 7 for the retire-rehire proposal.

Why didn’t we make sure that Dr. Price knew about this position? It would have been a great opportunity for him to have been in the running for this. It would have been a great opportunity for us Middletonians to see him leave for greener pastures. It would have been a great opportunity for this town to get a decent superintendent as a replacement.By Megan Gildow

VietVet, I would be shocked to see Dr. Price apply for a position at a district like Kings. It’s a smaller district than Middletown and a vastly different environment — suburban/rural vs. urban. Something like Cincinnati or Dayton (the Big 8) would be a logical move for a superintendent at one of Ohio’s smaller urban districts, like Middletown, but not something like Kings.
