It’s over, no knockout
10:33 First dude and the family are on the stage now, as is the Biden family. And reactions? Post them in the comments.
10:38 The networks are knocking Palin a bit for getting the name of the general in charge of Iraq wrong, calling “McKiernan” by the name “McClelland,” and for getting the number of troops in Iraq wrong. Some liberal blogs are hitting her for saying teachers will “get their reward in heaven,” suggesting that means rather than in pay here on earth. But this stuff is nitpicking not big gaffes.
10:45 Just checking in on some conservative blogs now. They are pretty happy about Palin’s performance. Some are raving about her plain talk. They like her saying “Nice to meet you, can I call you Joe?” at the start. Others fretted a bit about her ducking a couple questions, but the mood on the right is pretty bubbly.

My impression was that Biden just talked alot but didn’t say much. And what he did say was basically wrong. Also, he had bags under his eyes and looked like he hadn’t slept in days. Palin held her own. No surprises here.By Davidss2

The debate went great for Palin. As a newcomer to the Washington type of inhumanity to Republican candidates she did much better than I had predicted. Biden showed his typical decades in Senate style of lots of talk and saying nothing. He made a few facial expressions that should be picked up by the media—but won’t be because he’s the Democrat. He at one point looked like a 10-year old mocking that he’s being blamed for picking on his 8-year old brother. Not mature. His eyes did have bags under them. He looks too old for VP office. The president candidate can be older and show maturity and sagacity of years; the VP should be younger and physically more capable were something to happen tot he President. Too much of what he said sounded like Ted Kennedy talking. That’s a problem. Gwen Ifill did very well being even-handed. I suspect all the media attention to her conflict of interest helped her stay focused. But she did do a great job 99% of the time; that is about 15% more than most moderators. IT WAS A KNOCKOUT!! Biden proved he has more knowledge, experience and is a much more concise communicator than Palin by a mile. Biden has the skills to be President if necessary. Palin has nothing to offer with the exception of jokes, cutesy phrases and unprofessional remarks, please don't forget her winks. How successful is winking when meeting with foreign heads of state? Biden was very clear to explain point by point the differences between Obama and McCain and why Obama’s plan was superior for the economy, job creation, health, education and to fight terrorism. Palin is a Joke and McCain’s preferred diversion to the real issues of United States in which the only solution they have provided is that they are mavericks. What a Joke!!!! The only reason people have not acknowledged the Knockout is because everybody had lowered expectations because of her past performance. This is not right.
