From ThisWeekSports.com:
Pataskala’s Corey Weber showcased his durability on the football field last fall as the top running back at Wittenberg University.
Despite suffering a shoulder injury in the 2008 opener and missing the remainder of the season, he started fast and finished strong while helping to lead the Tigers to a 12-1 overall record and an undefeated seven-game romp through the North Coast Athletic Conference. They tied the school’s single-season wins mark and advanced to a Division III national quarterfinal before falling 31-13 against the eventual-champion University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
“Coming into my freshman year I had a high ankle sprain, too,” said Weber, a 2007 Watkins Memorial High School graduate. “Then I got clipped on the shoulder in my first game as a sophomore scoring a 2-yard touchdown. I was bummed, definitely. I didn’t want the coaches thinking I was injury prone or anything.”

Adam Eaton is heading west, final destination still unknown.
The 2007 Kenton Ridge graduate signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday, June 10, two days after they selected him in the 19th round of the Major League Baseball draft. He will play this summer with either the Yakima (Wash.) Bears, Arizona’s Short Season Class A team, or the Missoula (Mont.) Osprey, an Advanced Rookie League team.
“I’m happy with the way it turned out,” Eaton said. “I’m happy to be a professional baseball player and to give it a run in the professional ranks.”
Eaton will fly to Phoenix on Saturday for a physical and workouts. On Monday, he will find out which team he’s been assigned to. Yakima starts play June 18. Missoula plays its first game June 21.
