Chiropractor credits NASA for treatment

Chiropractor Alan Hudson has measurable proof to prescribe the treatments to his patients — thanks to NASA and the Space Foundation.
Hudson said he is one of many chiropractic doctors who have added the Insight Subluxation Station to their practice.
"The technology is designed to measure some of those things that cannot be measured," Hudson said. "We can map out pain. We can map out sensitivity."
Hudson said a person's nervous system is their life source.
"Your body is a self-healing, self-regulating organism," Hudson said. "You live your life through your nervous system."
But interferences with the nervous system are called subluxations. Sometimes those are felt through pain, but more times than not it's not felt at all, Hudson said.
"Chiropractic care is about keeping your body operating at a maximum potential," he said.
A patient undergoes five examinations with the Subluxation Station — pain, muscle function, neural function patterns, range of motion and heart rate. These readings obtained with an infrared scan on the person's skin, and their body temperature "is the window in."
Lifestyle stress has increased, which is why Hudson brought this technology to his small practice on Magie Avenue.
"Everything is either positive or negative, and there's more and more powerful negatives," Hudson said. "We eat out of boxes and bags instead of the garden. We hear the negative things in the news every 10 minutes on the hour. There are pesticides in the air we breath, the food we eat, the water we drink."
Bob Kramer is one of Hudson's patients. He says spending money on chiropractic care is worth more than money spent on other ancillary activities.
"Look at all the men and women who hire a golf coach to take a few strokes off their score," he said.
"My thought is to spend my time and money with a health coach to add quality years to the life that I have, and possibly add years to my life. You can live to an older age without having chronic neck and back problems."
