Make a difference and make an appointment

Kim Harper Salon and Spa invites customers to make an appointment for Sunday, April 27. The entire salon staff is working that day to raise money to build a well in Jos, Nigeria. Customers will receive a free product valued at $20 and have a chance to win a $50 gift certificate, while 100 percent of the day's proceeds will benefit Self Sustaining Enterprises. Otterbein hosts prayer breakfast

Otterbein Retirement Living Community will host a prayer breakfast in honor of National Day of Prayer from 7 to 8:30 a.m. May 1 at the Community Center, 585 N. Ohio 741.

Rev. James Ludwick is the keynote speaker, presenting "A Time to Bow." The breakfast also will include scripture readings and prayers.

Antique show coming to the fairgrounds

The Lebanon Conservancy Foundation Antique Show returns to the Warren County Fairgrounds on May 3 and 4, with a preview from 6 to 9 p.m. May 2.

Antique dealers from across the state and country will feature furniture, china, crystal, linens, paintings and lightings from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

The cost is $20 for the preview and includes weekend admission or $6 each day.

Literary fun through the looking glass

Tumble through the rabbit hole and spend the afternoon with Alice as she meets a rather odd mix of characters who live in the Wonderland there. Acting Up presents "Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr.," based on the Disney animated movie, May 2-4.

A pool of local magicians also will assist with the production, enhancing Alice's illusionary adventures. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. May 2, 2 and 7 p.m. May 3, and 2 p.m. May 4 at the Mason High School Theater. Tickets are $10, $8 seniors and groups of 20 or more.

LSO finishes season with French fanfare

The Lebanon Symphony Orchestra presents "An Evening with Debussy, Faure and Ravel" at 8 p.m. May 2 at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 123 N. East St. Enjoy a buffet dinner prepared by Jeannette's Delicacies from 6 to 7:15 p.m.

Following dinner, relax for an evening of light French music as the LSO closes its 17th season. Enjoy the sounds of Debussy's "Prelude in the afternoon of a faun"; Faure's "Requiem" with Carol Donovan, soprano and Tom Sherwood, bass; and Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin."

The pre-concert dinner is optional for $28. Advance tickets for the concert are $22.50, $12 for students.
