Sheriff turning to public for Taser info after death

HAMILTON — The Butler County Sheriff's Office is looking for help from the public as part of an ongoing investigation into the deployment of a Taser by Oxford police last month.
A Miami University graduate, Kevin Piskura, died several days after he was stunned by the Taser in the early morning hours of April 19 outside the Brick Street Bar.

Detectives in the sheriff's office would like to talk to anyone who may have helpful information. They also are seeking help from anyone who may have taken photos, audio or video recordings or were witnesses to the event and have not yet been interviewed by sheriff's personnel.

The Chicago man was hit with a Taser after Oxford police said he interfered with the arrest of a friend outside the High Street bar. He died on April 24 at University Hospital in Cincinnati. An autopsy has been performed by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office, but the cause of death has not yet been determined pending test results.
The Butler County Prosecutor's Office will review the results of the sheriff's office investigation.
