The city of Lebanon has become a healthier place thanks to the opening of the Corwin M. Nixon Health Center. More than 300 people attended the ribbon-cutting and took a tour of the new state-of-the-art doctors' offices at 1470 N. Broadway.
"This is a concept that has been in the works for many years," said Dr. Roy Chew, president of Grandview Medical Center. "The quality of patient care is the No. 1 goal for anyone in the medical field to strive for."
The 25,000-square-foot, $6 million facility will house five primary care physicians as well as a time share area where various specialists can rent space on a part-time basis. The facility also has a CT and MRI scan machine. The facility is part of the Kettering Health Network.
"We design our facilities working in conjunction with the physicians who will occupy them," said Pete King, vice president of finance and operations. "We find out their needs and incorporate them into the designs. That's the cornerstone in making a center like this successful."
"This is my dream office," said Dr. April Gardner, who moved her practice to the Nixon Center in July.
The building was named for Corwin M. Nixon, who served as the Speaker of the Ohio House for 33 years and also served on the Grandview Medical Center Board of Directors for more than 30 years.
"(Corwin Nixon) made Lebanon a better place to be," said Lebanon Mayor Amy Brewer at the opening celebration.
Brewer said she was excited to have such state-of-the-art facilities in Lebanon.
"It's a great benefit for our residents and anyone in the area," Brewer said.
