Staff Report

Waynesville closed in on a Division IV playoff berth on Friday, Oct. 30, but won’t know for sure until Sunday evening.

The Spartans beat visiting Madison, 55-12. That, coupled with Milton-Union’s loss to Bellbrook mot likely put Waynesville in the playoffs.

Cory Young and Seth Millar both ran for over 100 yards in the Spartans’ victory and five different players scored for Waynesville — Millar, Young, Chase Gianattasio, Devon Burton and Matt Lindsey.

Waynesville finishes the regular season at 8-2 and 4-1 in the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division, which was good enough for a share of the league championship.
