More than 50 Lebanon Junior High students honored their city in the school's first poster contest, started by art teacher Alecia Aday.

The theme of the contest was "My Special Place in Lebanon," and the top five posters – voted on by the students – are on display at various downtown businesses as part of a traveling art show, according to Principal Ian Frank.

"We really want to get the community involved (in the school), and this is a way for us to do that," Frank said.

The top five posters will now be voted on by the public with ballots available at participating businesses. The winning student receives $100 and will have their poster framed and displayed at the Lebanon Public Library. The other students will also receive cash prizes.

Finalists are Aubrey Collopy, Erika Davis, Ben Riggin, Kaitlin Stephens and Emily Zirkle.
