MIDDLETOWN — Local jewelry store chain Rogers Jewelers will be moving its corporate offices from Middletown to a new location in Austin, Texas.

Although the office at 1050 Central Ave. will close, the Middletown stores in the Towne Mall and on Central Avenue will remain open, store officials confirmed.

Extras

There are 46 stores in 11 states under the Rogers Jewelers and Andrews Jewelers names. In addition to the two Middletown stores, there are also locations in Northgate, Eastgate and Tri-County malls and Kenwood Towne Centre in Cincinnati.

The store chain was first a family-owned business founded in Middletown in 1920.

The Rogers and Andrews Jewelers stores were purchased in November 2007 by India-based jewelry manufacturer Gitanjali Gems Ltd.
