The National Weather Service post at Wilmington has issued a flood warning for the Little Miami River at Kings Mill in Warren County through Friday afternoon, May 16.

Meteorologist Todd Shobe of the weather service said 1.5 to 2 inches of rain fell in the area in the last 24 hours with isolated pockets of heavier rain. Little or no rain is expected today in the Miami Valley, but showers and thundershowers are to return Saturday, Sunday and into the first part of next week.

Extras

The Warren County Sheriff's office reported high water upstream along the junction of Turtle Creek and the Little Miami River south of South Lebanon. The weather service predicted the river would rise to about 19.2 feet Friday morning, which is 2 feet above flood stage.

At that level, flood waters are likely to approach low-lying roads in Foster and South Lebanon. Motorists are warned to refrain from crossing standing water on roads because the water may be deeper than it appears.
