Blood donors can win baseball tickets

CINCINNATI — Hoxworth Blood Center is conducting special blood drives though May 24 to get blood before the Memorial Day holiday. Those who donate blood on May 23-24 will be entered to win one of seven pairs of Cincinnati Reds tickets. Winners will be contacted May 27. All donors who give today through May 28 will receive a free "Red Hot Blood Donor" T-shirt.
A spokesperson for Hoxworth said the Memorial Day time is difficult for the center to recruit donors because churches and businesses are unable to host drives due to closings surrounding the holiday.

On May 23, centers taking donations are located in Blue Ash, Central at U.C., Ft. Mitchell, Tri-County and Western Hills. On May 24, centers include Blue Ash, Ft. Mitchell and Tri-County Community blood drives conducted May 23 are Rookwood Commons, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Crestview Hills Town Center, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Best Buy Tri-County, 1-7 p.m.; and on May 24, Kenton Co. Library, 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1:15-4 p.m.
