Two men arrested for a theft in Deerfield Twp.

DEERFIELD TWP. — Two Butler County men were arrested on Tuesday, May 20, for the theft of high-end sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut in Deerfield Twp.

Brandon Schreiber, 26, from Hamilton, and Jason Sand, 22, from West Chester, were arrested at Schreiber's home shortly after the offense.

Authorities said just before 5 p.m. both men went into the store at Deerfield Towne Center separately. An employee told police the pair tried to appear like they were not together but acted suspicious. While Schreiber made a small purchase, Sand allegedly put several pairs of expensive sunglasses in his sweatshirt. The pair fled when an employee approached Sand.

Police said a description of the vehicle from an employee led the Warren County Sheriff's deputies to call for assistance from Butler County Sheriff deputies. The men were found in Hamilton and arrested, both in possession of marijuana.

Schreiber is charged with complicity to theft and drug abuse.

Sand is charged with theft and drug abuse.
