MASON — Mason voters are approving a 10-year renewal levy for Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development by 53 percent, with 35 of 50 precincts reporting.

If the levy is approved, Mason residents, will continue to pay the $59.15 tax on $100,000 homes each year.

Great Oaks first asked for this 10-year renewal in 1998. If the levy passes, property taxes to Great Oaks would remain at the same rate as they have been since then.

This year, 62 Mason High School students attended Great Oaks, which is based in Sharonville. All told, about 7,000 students from 36 school districts in southwest Ohio take advantage of the school's 42 programs.
