Tight races in lower ranks of Little Miami invite
Invitational lacks drama at the top as Clinton-Massie, Goshen win easily.

Little Miami High School held its annual track and field invitational Friday, May 7, with the most interesting battle in the team standings being for third or fourth place.
Goshen and Clinton-Massie ran away with the girls and boys titles, respectively. Goshen won the girls meet with 116.5 points, well ahead of second-place Glen Este which scored 90. On the boys side, Clinton-Massie amassed a whopping 170 points, well ahead of Glen Este's 99 and Blanchester's 73.

After that, however, the race was interesting.
Waynesville's girls just edged the host Panthers, 71.66 to 70, with Clinton-Massie a close fifth with 65.33 points.
Waynesville's boys took fourth with 46 points, followed by Little Miami with 36, East Clinton with 35, Northwest (34) and Goshen (33).
Among the locals, Waynesville's Jessica Dahnke was the only individual champion as she won the discus with a throw off 100 feet, seven inches.
Little Miami's boys 3,200-meter relay team was the lone Panther first place finish, as they won in 8 minutes, 50.93 seconds.
There were a number of Panther girls who posted top four finishes.
Ashley Tieman was second in the discus at 86 feet, Alina Pronina was runner-up in the long jump (14-5) and Kait Alexander took silver in the shot put at 29-4.
Bronze medals went to Amanda Ihnat in the high jump (4-8), Laura Maile in the 200 meters (28.36) and the Panthers' 400 meter relay team (53.06).
On the boys side, Little Miami got third place finishes from Kaleb Perrin in the pole vault (9-6), Anthony St. George in the 1600 (5:09.42) and Clayton Allison in the 800 (2:16.18).
