Tippecanoe High School (22-7) shut down and shut out Indian Lake (21-5) 4-0 in their Division II sectional softball final at Bellefontaine on Saturday, May 17.

Casey Locker turned in a dominating performance, striking out 13 and allowing just two baserunners.

Extras

Tippecanoe's first batter, Michelle Baker, reached on an error, stole second, then scored on a throwing error.

Tippecanoe will play Hamilton-Ross on Saturday at Fairmont.

Tri-Village 9, Tri-County North 0: In D-IV action, pitcher Jordan Fisherback struck out 14 on her way to her 15th win. Adriana Finkbine and Brittany Bowman each doubled in the victory. Tri-Village (17-4) will play Triad on Friday at Tippecanoe.

Baseball

Springboro 11, Fairmont 1: Senior Adam Bailey did it all for Springboro in this D-I sectional. Bailey struck out seven over five innings and knocked in four runs with a pair of doubles. Springboro will play the Sycamore/Moeller winner on Friday at the Midland Sports Complex.

Benjamin Logan 3, Tippecanoe 1: Ben Logan's Jeremiah Kerns was two outs away from a perfect game when Jordan Stum singled in the bottom of the seventh. Though Tipp was able to break into the run column in the seventh, its rally came up short. Ben Logan will play the winner of the Cincinnati lower bracket Saturday in the first round of districts.

Tennis

D-I Centerville: In singles championship action, Carroll's Jimmy Caccamo defeated Centerville's Stefan Wagner. After falling 3-6 in the first set, Caccamo rallied to take the next two sets 6-4, 6-4. Middletown's Patrick Hamning and Michael Cole defeated Wilmington's Elliot Conti and Tyler Johnston 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-2 in doubles.

D-I Troy: North's Lee Dixon defeated his opponents with a combined score of 60-5. Dixon beat Butler's Colin Imwalle 6-0, 6-0 in the championship match. Butler took two tie-breakers to defeat Troy 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (6-3) in the doubles championship.

D-II Centerville: Madison freshman Alex Fields defeated Chaminade-Julienne freshman John Buerschen in singles. Oakwood's Addison Wille and Ethan Greene faced off against teammates Isaac Hong and David Wang, winning 6-1, 6-2 in the doubles championship.

D-II Troy: In the singles championship, Tippecanoe's Philip Dresden defeated Lehman Catholic's Rob Harrelson 6-2, 6-3. Yellow Springs defeated Lehman Catholic 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 in doubles.
