Outdoor pavilion plans unveiled

The Warren County Arts Council unveiled its plans for a new outdoor performance pavilion in Lebanon.

Although no location is set for the pavilion, architect Bill Cullen of BC3D Design in Turtlecreek Twp. conceived the 3,500 square foot venue to blend in with downtown Lebanon’s historic buildings.

“We wanted it to be within walking distance to downtown shops,” Cullen said.

Cullen estimated construction costs for the pavilion would be about $500,000.

Arts Council founder Larry Stone said the pavilion plan is still in the early stages and the final look of the structure could change depending on its location.

Price estimates from contractors and sound and lighting engineers should completed in the next four weeks, Stone said. After that, the council will focus on finding a suitable site and raising funds for construction.

The pavilion would be considerably smaller than the Fraze Pavilion in Kettering or Riverbend in Cincinnati, but still feature lighting and sound systems that will place it a cut above similar venues like Springboro’s pavilion, Stone said.
