Poisoning sends seven to the hospital

HAMILTON — Seven people were taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital early this morning after suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning, according to Hamilton police who assisted firefighters at the scene on Webster Avenue.
Two adults and five children were overcome with carbon monoxide at about 5 a.m. at a duplex on the 200 block of Webster, police said. There were no carbon monoxide detectors in the residence, police said.

Local 12 reports that investigators said the fumes likely came from a generator that was being used because one of the homes did not have power.
