With more than half the precincts reporting in the Turtlecreek Twp. board of trustee race, one incumbent and one newcomer are in the lead.

With 80 percent of results counted, incumbent Dan Jones has a sizeable lead on on his opponents with 33 percent of the vote.

Jonathan Sams has 25 percent of the vote, John Lutmer has 19 percent of the vote and incumbent Michael Shaffer, who was running behind has moved up in the race with 23 percent of the vote.

The key issues in the race have been how to best manage the growth of the township and continue to provide road and EMS services.
