Several precincts in the southern portion of Warren County are already seeing turnout today, Nov. 3 close to predicted levels with less than six hours left to vote.

Two precincts in Hamilton Twp. are close to the 30 percent turnout predicted by Warren County Board of Elections Director Keir Holeman. Voter numbers around 12:45 p.m. showed that two precincts at Little Miami Middle School were at 27 and 26.7 percent, respectively.

Voters there are voting for the Little Miami school levy and the hotly contested township trustee race.

Turnout percentages in 20 other random precincts in the county range from a low of 7.8 percent in a South Lebanon precinct to 16 percent and 20 percent at precincts in Springboro and Waynesville.

Holeman said 7,354 absentee ballots were requested and 6,370 have been filed. There are 142,617 registered voters in the county.

This is Holeman’s first local election with the county but he said researched past elections to make his prediction.

“I padded it a couple percent because the casino and other issues like that might get some people out. I think 25 percent is pretty low and 30 percent is pretty high in these types of elections.”

Today voters will choose new city and village councilmen, township trustees, decide two county-wide tax levies and a host of individual tax issues.

The polls will be open until 7:30 p.m.

It is really sickening to see turnouts of 8% in a S. Lebanon precint to 27% in one in a Little Miami precint. Our great nation allows us to make decisions on our governance and we are throwing away this hallowed gift. It is especially frightful as actions in Washington are being taken that will lead to us losing the opportunity to have a voice in our government. When those who have the means to provide employment have been taxed into oblivion who will feed the parasites unwilling to work.

Be sure to vote against the Warren County Career Center and their ridiculous improvement tax. The idiot superintendent went out and spent unnecessary money for a cafeteria and a library, now needs money to run things. When she took over they had excess money in the bank when other schools were in the red. She has spent the well dry. Too bad take a reduction in pay since you are the second highest paid with the fewest students! Maybe let go one or two of your three principals!

I am in a wheel chair and went to one voting location. It was set up very nice. Had a temporary ramp set up. Had VERY nice signs everywhere! Good job Board of Elections !

My wife and I voted at the Valley Vineyards in Morrow and we were in and out in 10-15 minutes. No problems. The longest delay wasn't the lines, it was the older ladies trying to find my name in their thick paper book of names and addresses.
