Two area companies will receive funds from Ohio Department of Development to create and retain jobs.

Springboro-based Printing Service Company received a $1.9 million loan at an interest rate of three percent a year for an eight-year term, the development department said. The loan will allow the purchase of new equipment for lithographic and digital printing services, to help with a $5.4 million project. According to a news release, the project is expected to create 15 jobs and will assist in retaining 70 positions.

In Mason, Spear USA LLC was awarded a $55,460 tax credit for a $1 million project which is expected to create 25 positions and retain 118 jobs.

15 jobs isn't many. I think the money could have gone to a company creating more jobs.

They should give the city of Monore money to fight their useless battle against Sun Coke and also to build some more buildings so they can be left as empty space.
