MASON — Homearama will continue this year in the Cincinnati region, but the location and participating builders remain a secret.

The Homebuilders Association of Greater Cincinnati has sponsored the popular luxury home show for 49 years. There was some question about whether or not the show would go on this year, but Executive Director Dan Dressman says they won’t break with tradition in 2010.

“The plan is to do a Homearama and more than likely we’re looking at the fall,” he said. “We have a location in mind and we have commitments from several builders as well.”

Luxury homes in Warren County have been spotlighted in seven of the past eight years. Last year the show was moved from Long Cove — where home prices range in millions — to the Carmelle subdivision in Mason, with houses in the $550,000 to $950,000 range.

The credit crunch has hit home builders and buyers and Dressman said companies has revisited their business plans to adjust to changing conditions. Many builders have placed more focus on remodeling rather than just building new.

“There are a lot more builders that are diversifying their business plan,” Dressman said. “They are doing things they might not have done in the past for economic reasons.”

The Citirama show is running in Homerama’s traditional slot in June.

The association plans to host four shows next year. In addition to Homerama and Citirama, Dressman said for the first time they are partnering with the Homebuilders Association of Northern Kentucky to hold an expanded, regional tour of remodeled homes. The Cavalcade of Homes show in April and May will also be held in conjunction with the HBA of Northern Kentucky.
