MONROE — Southbound traffic on Interstate 75 were to shift from the outside lanes to the inside lanes on a portion of Interstate 75 on Friday, Nov. 20, officials from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation said in a release.

Traffic will now move in the inside median lanes from the Hendrickson Road overpass to just past the Travel Information Center south of the Ohio 63 interchange. The switch required the right lane to close at 7 p.m. and the center lane at 10 p.m.

ODOT said the center lane will reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, and the right lane will reopen at 3 p.m. During this traffic shift, the southbound I-75 exit ramp to Ohio 63 will begin just north of its usual location. The northbound I-75 exit ramp to Ohio 63 will be switched onto new concrete pavement during this time.

Jon, this project, as are all ODOT projects, was bid by private contractors with JR Jurgensen awarded the contract for $110 million. A, In addition, this has been a 24 hour; six day a week operation. Even with that, this project won't be completed until 2012. By the way, there are alternate routes, as Allchurch indicates.

This is what happens when you allow the county/state/city try to get something accomplished. Why don't they just hire outside, private contractors to bid on these projects and get them done in HALF the time and cost? Politics! Grrrr...

I shouldn't share this advice, but I will. What the heck.

Just take Cincinnati Dayton Road from Sharonville to Middletown. It might take another 10-15 minutes but that's all.

Aren't the 10-15 extra minutes worth the aggravation?

If they don't get this construction done soon I am going to be outta my mind. It is such a mess. Why they have decided to do so much work all at once is beyond me but I am so sick of it. Hurry the F up so my drive home can be somewhat relaxing please.!!!!
