Robb White is a Renaissance man.

He’s been an actor in a recent Lebanon High School play. He’s served as a community officer and also is a computer forensic expert.

And now he is Lebanon’s Police Officer of the Year.

White, a Lebanon police officer for the past 25 years, recently was recognized by the Lebanon Optimist Club with the honor.

“For all Robb does for the police force, he never gets recognition,” said Lebanon Police Chief Ken Burns. “We just expect it out of him and he never fails to get it done.”

During his career, White has served in many areas of the police department, from communications dispatcher to swat team to cyber crime investigator.

Burns said he has also gone above and beyond his duty to reach out to the community.

“I can’t think of the police department without Robb,” Burns said, adding that if the chief of police was an elected position, he would be worried White would win because of his popularity in the community.

White began his career with the Lebanon Police Department in August of 1984. He was working as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic and going to school to become a surgical assistant, when a captain suggested he try a career in law enforcement.

“The best part of the job is definitely meeting new people and working with people,” White said. “Police officers are just problem solvers.”

During the past few years, White has become an expert in cyber forensics and cyber crimes, including identity theft and child pornography. He uses these skills for the Warren County Cyber Crime Task Force as well as the departments of Customs and Homeland Security. He said he takes pride in removing child pornography from the Internet and knowing “no one will ever see it again.”

“It’s a necessity,” White said. “There’s a computer at every crime scene these days. If you can’t (unlock a computer’s files) in-house, the backlog is six months to a year. I can turn it around in about a week.”

White also worked as the community officer, working on crime prevention and educational programs like Safety Town that teach children about safety.

His wife, Toni, said he is recognized anywhere he goes as “Officer Robb.”

“Even on vacation, somebody seems to know him,” Toni said. “He really loves what he does.”

The award was sponsored by the Lebanon Optimist Club and Heritage Baptist Church.

Justin- way to fix your mistake..

Too bad you never corrected the numerous mistakes you made in the article you wrote about Frank Ward and his wife Mary before it went to press. Proof reading doesn't seem to be a strong point of yours.

Robb White is a wonderful officer who I cannot say enough about. He's the most deserving officer for this award. I hope one day to see him as Chief.

"Wright also worked as the community officer, working on crime prevention and educational programs like Safety Town that teach children about safety."

Nice Typo! Shouldn't it be White and not Wright. Come on this guy deserves this more then you know and you can't even proof read your article?
