Deerfield Towne Center will have two new stores in a time for the holidays and one shortly thereafter.
The three new tenants will put the 420,000-square-foot lifestyle shopping center at 95 percent occupancy by next spring, according to Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate, the center’s leasing agent.
Jos. A. Bank, a men’s clothier, is scheduled to open Friday, Nov. 20, in a 4,800-square-foot space that once housed Sharper Image.
Dognabit! Modern Pet Outfitters, a locally owned and operated business, is tentatively scheduled to open Dec. 19 in a 1,232-square-foot space once occupied by Girl Boutique.
Dognabit specializes in natural, unique, and quality goods for dogs and cats and welcomes all friendly pets on leashes or in carriers, according to Michelle Dillion, who owns the business.
The store will stock a variety of goods including pet food, hand crafted collars from England and Australian artisans, custom dog beds, dinnerware, spa goods, original oil prints by local artists and prints from abroad, natural wood furniture pieces that are cat perches, camping equipment for pets, and training aids.
Dillion said she opted to open the business in Deerfield Towne Center because she grew up in Mason and worked in Deerfield Twp. for several years.
“I feel like it’s a great location for such a store,” she said. “I found myself always driving to Chicago, New York or even going to California to find unique gifts for my own animals and I want to share some of what I love with this community of animal lovers.”
Gymboree, which already operates a store within the center, plans to open a Crazy 8 location there in early 2010. Crazy 8 specializes in clothing for girls and boys up to age 12 and will open a 3,000-square-foot space once occupied by Bankhardt’s Luggage & Gifts.
