The Carousel Organ Association of America is coming to perform with an assortment of 1900s-era outdoor mechanical musical instruments.
The event runs the weekend of Aug. 14-16 on the grounds of Der Dutchmen Restaurant at 230 N. U.S. 42. On Friday and Saturday, vintage and new organs will be at the restaurant, but during the weekend, organ grinders and their monkeys will be performing along the village’s historic Main Street.
“They’re coming from across the country to Waynesville,” said Dawn Schroeder, executive director of the Waynesville Area Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a great event to see something we don’t get to experience every day, something that’s not so common and reminiscent of another time.”
The shows run noon to 5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
