LEBANON — David Young will serve as president of the Warren County Commission for 2010.

Young was next in line for the position as the commissioners decided its leadership during its annual reorganization meeting held today, Jan. 11.

Young of Mason has was elected to the commission in 2004 and served as vice president in 2009. He served as president in 2007.

Pat South will serve as the commission’s vice president for 2010. In 1993, she was the first woman elected as a Warren County commissioner. She has served as president and vice president several times during her tenure.

Mike Kilburn, who is in his 28th year as a county commissioner and was the youngest person ever elected to the commission, is planning to run in the Republican primary this spring for the 2nd Congressional seat now held by incumbent Rep. Jean Schmidt.

The commissioners also opted to depart with tradition by setting a new meeting time for its Tuesday meetings. The commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. so residents don’t have to wait for them to complete executive session discussions.

The commission will continue holding its Thursday meeting at 5 p.m.
