Originally built as a country club, Larch Tree is a privately-owned facility near Trotwood with a challenging public course. Its toughest hole, according to the scorecard, is the 395-yard (from the middle tee) uphill par 4 No. 5. An average drive leaves the golfer with a 5-iron shot to the large green, and it's very common to see golfers come up short on the approach. Don't be fooled by the yardage. It always takes one club more than the yardage would normally require.
