Benzinger to be named new girls hoops coach at Lakota East

Todd Benzinger will be the new girls basketball coach at Lakota East High, pending school board approval at its meeting Monday, May 12.
According to the school board agenda, Benzinger — whose contract was not renewed at Loveland after two seasons — will replace Dave Honhart, who resigned in March after five years.

Benzinger, 45, was 30-12 at Loveland, including 17-4 this past season, and was previously the head coach at Seven Hills for seven years (122-47).
He played nine seasons (1987-95) in Major League Baseball, including three with the Cincinnati Reds ('89-'91).
