Council to make city manager choice

Carlisle City Council is expect to choose a new city manager at their meeting Tuesday, May 13.

Two candidates, both with ties to Carlisle, are being considered for the job.

City Council has been narrowing its search since March, choosing from a field of 24 applicants from as far as Texas and Florida.

Final interviews were conducted Saturday with the two candidates: Interim City Manager Greg Wallace and Sherry Callahan, who is now the part-time human resource manager of the city of West Carrollton.

Wallace also serves as Carlisle's fire chief and zoning inspector, and Callahan is a former Carlisle Board of Education member.

Mayor Tim Humphries said council will meet at 6 p.m. for an executive session to discuss the search.

"It's a really important decision for the future of Carlisle," Humphries said.

Carlisle City Council meets at 7 p.m. at 760 W. Central Ave.
